Fresh Ambrosia

Don't you just love it when you are inspired to pull out some REALLY old supplies and see that it can still work??
When I saw this sketch from the Basic Grey blog, I remember this beautiful collection called Ambrosia, with these gorgeous butterflies. Once I had all the papers on my desk, this page came together so quickly.

I used just a touch of Mister Huey's mist on the background paper. All of the butterflies were fussy cut from a sheet of the patterned paper. Pop dots make them "fly" off the page. These newspaper print handmade flowers worked so well with these colors, they just had to be used. Some trim and lots of buttons finished off the whole look.
I am so happy that this came together so nicely. And I never gave up on the older stash. :)

Here is the fun sketch that I used:

PLG #25 - Gimme that Chocolate Bunny!!

Welcome to challenge #25 from Paper Lovin' Gals! Sorry this is a little late.

Here is the fun photo inspiration....look at that yummy chocolate! I'm trying to stay away from chocolate, so I just stare at this picture and wish....

I made my own little basket using some pleated borders from Basic Grey. I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and added a little bit of ink. The fun grass borders are from K&Company. For the handle of the basket, I pulled out some fun fibers. They were also inked and sprayed. It was fun to use a lot of green and not being working on a St. Pat's Day page...lol.

I hope you join us for this week's challenge! Bring out those chocolate bunnies and get to work! For more inspiration, stop by Paper Lovin' Gals and see what the Design Team created!!

C'est Magnifique

Here is a page I did for this beautiful sketch from C'est Magnifique.
I pulled out some much older papers and a few different trims from the stash.
The flowers are from the flower drawer. I added a light touch of Stickles to them to bring them to life a little more.
I am very happy with the way this turned out. :)
Here is the original sketch:
I hope I did it justice. :)

Have a great Sunday!!

Catching up...

A late night last night, and an early morning today. I miss scrapping!! I have been doing tiny bits of these layouts every night. I swear I can only get about 20 minutes a night to work at my desk. I'm exhausted!

Here is my page for Scrapping Everyday Miracles. This was such a fun sketch and I have had this older photo on my message board for weeks. I recently found it in a box and just love it. It's both of my daughters. I love the smile on the baby's face! Such love for her big sister. The other great part of this page is that it was put together with all goodies from the dollar spot at Michael's. :)

My next page is for Boys Rule! I have been sitting on this die cut for so long. This sketch was just screaming for me to use it. The photos matched the colors perfectly. I used a border punch on some scraps and then scored them to give them a little bit more design. The butterflies are also from Michael's. :)
And then of course, I had to give the sketch from Artful Delight a shot. Most of this is from the January kit, which included Studio Calico papers. I'm loving the yellow and aqua mix. I fussy cut the hexagons from one of the papers. And the tag is from the Funday Kraft set from My Mind's Eye.
Now I feel like I have accomplished something!!

Have you checked out the "Lift it" challenges at My Scraps and More?? Everyday, there is a new lift and there are so many fun pages to inspire you! Stop by and check them out! You won't be disappointed and you just might win a prize!

Twisted Sketches #143 - Wish

Welcome to my first post for the Design Team at Twisted Sketches!! I love all the sketches on this site and the twist really keeps my mind moving!
This week, the twist was "wish"....any way, any how.

"Wishes" always makes me think of Disney World. Even the song "Wishes" that is played at the end of each night makes me want to cry.
Here we are standing in front of the castle, listening to the song. I didn't want the night to end.

I "twisted" the sketch to fit my picture and used some glitter letters for my title. The trims are miscellaneous goodies from the stash. My favorite part is the Mickey head confetti. We gathered a bunch of this at the send off party on the Disney cruise.

Stop by Twisted Sketches and see the Wishes of the rest of the Design Team! Lots of inspiration to be found!
Have a great day!!!

PLG #24 - Don't Fence Me In

Finally! I get a few minutes to myself!!

Here is challenge #24 from Paper Lovin' Gals. I just love these bright yellows!!

I pulled out some fun pictures with lots of yellows. This is from our group Disney trip. I used some of the flowers from our leis to accent the whole page. The bamboo papers were recycled from the folder that the pictures came in.
And of course, I had to add some buttons. :)
I used a sketch from Once Upon a Sketch for this page. This was such a fun page and brought back lots of memories. I actually had to call my friends to share this with them. Now we are in talks to go on another trip!!

Stop by Paper Lovin' Gals and see the beautiful creations they have made!!

Have a great day!!!

Let's Get Sketchy!!

I wish there were more hours in the day....I need more scrapping time!!

Here are my pages for the first two weeks of challenges at Let's Get Sketchy.

I used the photo inspiration from Paper Lovin's Gals for the whole color scheme. I didn't realize how many St. Patrick's Day photos I had until I pulled them all out!
This second layout was made with some papers from Bo Bunny Zoology line.
I love all the fun chipboard elements! If you look closely, the lion is sticking his tongue out at the camera. I did have this one enlarged...to be scrapped later. :)
Have a great Saturday!!!

PGL #23 - Kiss me I'm Irish

Good Morning!! And Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
I'm a little late getting this post out for the Paper Lovin' Gals challenge....

This week, it's a fun St. Pat's Day challenge. Go Green!!
Of course, this can be interpreted any way you choose. I hope you will join us in this fun challenge!!
My hubby is very Irish, so this is a fun holiday for us. We have an annual Shamrock Search every year...just like an Easter Egg hunt. Lots of fun and lots of photos!

Da Bears

I realized that I have zillions of zoo pictures piling up, with many more to come. And I have been hoarding this new line from Bo Bunny. Time to break out and zoo goodies and get to work.
I started with this sketch from the Boys Rule blog....

...and ended up with a multi photo bears page. :)
And that's the way we say it in Chicago...Da Bears!!

Well,...that's 4 pictures out of the stack..off to work on more!!!

Oh nuts...

Yeah for days off!!! And I love that today is the best weather day we have had in a long time! It's going to be close to 80, sunny and just perfect.

And I want to scrap all day...lol. I will get out for a bit to enjoy the weather...you can be sure of that!

Here is my attempt at a sketch from Once Upon a Sketch. I pulled out the box of Fall goodies and was able to make use of a lot of miscellaneous papers...which is always a good thing. And these squirrel stickers from Jolee's have been collecting dust for quite a while too.

And following a Fall page, I grabbed some Summer fun pictures. This is for Scrapfit #63.
I'm playing along with the "Lift it" crop at My Scraps and More, and the lift on this day used a lot of Cosmo Cricket papers. I pulled them all out and used just a bit of them. For fun I added a piece of "sand" paper, some twine and older sandcastles stickers.

Lots to do today!! Off to grab some more "lifts" from the crop!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Hello again...

Wow...seems like forever since I have had time to scrap or even look at my stuff. This is going to be a very busy month for family stuff. Which isn't a bad thing, I just miss playing.

Here are a few layouts that have been sitting around for over a week waiting for the final touches....and for me to find time to blog about them. :)

Here is a fun page using a Martha Stewart die cut. I love these!! I used some Stickles and some glitter inside a few of the flowers. The cluster is just a cluster of many different things I found in the stash. I even added a few pearl accents. The title is from K&Company. Lovin' the old stash!! The sketch is from Paper Secrets for the March sketch challenge. :)

This was a lot of fun! I started out using a sketch from Rochelle Spears, who I found through GrandDiva. :)
While looking through my pictures, I ran across these from the local park. Right away, I knew I had to find my "track" stamp. It's a little roller stamp that I thought would be fun to use for the big circle. I used a circle template and then just ran the stamp around it for the track. Love it!
I pulled out a really old kit from American Crafts and used some of the papers and ribbons. The foam pieces are also from American Crafts Thickers...I just added some ink. The buttons were a last minute touch. :)

And here is the sketch from GrandDiva.
While I was working on using up the older stuff, I found this fun farm kit. Lots of fun stuff! The papers were pretty colorful and I love the giant buttons. I added a strip of burlap behind the big strip. A few strands were pulled off the burlap and threaded through each button. The animals and letter stickers are all from the same kit. I love how whimsical this turned out!
I have a trillion things to do and I really wish I could scrap a little bit more...but off to the store!

Have a great day!!!

Pretty products!!

I have to admit that I couldn't wait until the new CHA products hit the stores! Sooo many new things to play with!

Here is my page for the monthly sketch challenge from Little Yellow Bicycle. I used the Paradise collection. I LOVE the fun colors and all the elements are so pretty! I love the tear out ticket book! They are so fun!! I inked the edges a little bit and they really look great!

And my second page is from the latest collection from Authentique called "Genuine".
These two colors together are just gorgeous. I used one sheet for some fussy cutting. I cut out the butterflies and used a few pop dots. Another sheet had these really cool chevron borders. I cut one, scored it, inked it, and added the butterflies.
I also used two different border punches on a few strips.
The patterned papers used are "Friendship" and "True". The photo mat was made using "Prosperity" from the "Blissful" collection. The title and other stickers are from the "Genuine" details sheet.

Time to get ready for the birthday party tonight! Have a great night!!

Saturday Inspiration

Just messing around a bit this morning and last night.

My Scraps and More is having a month long crop. It's all about "lifting". Each day a new "lift" is posted for you to use for inspiration. Here is my first page.

I FINALLY used some older papers that have been around forever and I could never find just the right page for them. I hand cut all the tags and inked up just about everything on this page. :)

Here is my take on a fun sketch posted by My Mind's Eye. I love Funday!!!

And here is my attempt at the latest sketch challenge from Jillibean Soup. I used a lot of my Chicken Noodle Soup kit. :)

Have a great day!!

PLG #21 - Purple!!

It's all about purple for Paper Lovin' Gals challenge #21! I love how rich these purples are!

Due to the cloudy, rainy days, I just can't seem to get a great picture of these purples. I also stuck with the button inspiration also.
