Dream Big

Time for a sketch challenge from Scrapping Everyday Miracles. I have been trying to use up lots of purples lately. It's the most neglected color in my stash.

This die cut is fromDCWV. The borders are from K&Company, along with the butterfly and dragonfly. I had a little fun with Stickles all over the page too. :)

My weekend is winding down fast...not looking forward to work tomorrow. I love when I have free weekends to scrap. I get a little bit spoiled with that....

Enjoy your Sunday evening....watching the Oscars!

Sun and Fun

The sun is so bright right now, I sure wish it was Summer! I can't wait to open up the pool and have some summer fun!

Here is my attempt at a 2 page sketch from Sketches in Thyme. Using up lots more older goodies. And lots of Mango Frost papers. :)

I made my shopping list and now it's off to the scrapbook store!

Have a great day!!

Boy stuff

How I spent my Saturday night...scrapping!!

I used a few sketches from the Boys Rule blog. Here is my first page...
I had a very old sheet of cut outs that I had been saving. I knew it would come in handy! It was full of all these fun tools and titles. The hardware paper was from a construction kit from years ago. I hand cut the tools and then used pop dots on them all.

Sticking with the "boys"....I have lots of fun picture from our trip to the Volo Car Museum. Here are my favorite guys posing next to their favorite car. This page is full of paper and goodies from A Boy's Life by Echo Park. This is the second sketch from the Boys Rule Blog.

For the sketch from Once Upon a Sketch, I pulled out another old, old kit. The flowers are a mix from the stash. And the doilies were inked with aqua and brown, then misted with Glimmer Mist. I also used a mix of buttons and brads for the flowers.
And now that I have a new printer, I just had to try it out with some journaling strips. My handwriting is too messy to attempt on a page. lol

And here we are on Sunday, with nothing to do but more pages! I'm thinking of pulling out some fun Disney pictures and get in the mood for our trip. 117 days and counting!

Have a great Sunday!!!

Scrapping weekend!!

Finally!! After today's basketball game, all I have to do this weekend is SCRAP!! YAY!! I really want to take a chunk out of my stash this weekend. I have coupons that are burning a hole in my pocket! And I am really anxious to see what the kit clubs are going to offer for March... :)

I started out this morning with sketch #140 from Twisted Sketches. The twist was "white"...any way, any how. What better way to use white than to start with a snow picture!

Here is this year's Snow Buddy. We dress him up differently every year. This year we tried a western theme. Behind the photo is a strip of burlap. Lots of fun foam snowflakes were used for the border strip. :)
I love how this one turned out! I'm also using this page for the Open Sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme. :)

Then there was this month's sketch challenge from Imaginisce. After looking at all that snow, I needed to warm up. Out came the beach photos! I pulled out my stash of Splash...my all time favorite collection from them!

My little guy loves the beach and is more than happy to pose. He can over to help me with this page. He picked out the fish stickers and insisted the crabs had to be on the page also. I used a circle cutter to mat the stickers and inked them up. They are also on pop dots. The border strips were fussy cut and pop dotted...(is that a word??) I used a piece of scrapping floss to tie up the anchor sticker. I think he did a great job helping me out with this page. :)

I'm new to this site, but I wanted to throw my hat in the ring for the sketch challenge at GrandDiva's Creative Corner. I will accept any sketch inspiration! And this one was fun!

I really love the new A Boy's Life collection from Echo Park. Lots of the stickers were put on pop dots. This is my cousin's son...my cousin is an aspiring pilot, so this was perfect for this photo.

Paper Lovin' Gals #20 - Lots of Blooms

Happy Thursday!!!
I am so glad the week is almost over! Hopefully, we won't get hit with all the snow they are predicting...

It's time for challenge #20 from Paper Lovin' Gals...and I'm sure it will make you think of Spring and Summer.
Check out these fun, bright colors!

And if you need more thoughts of Summer, I used the photo for a fun pool page.

And just in case you needed a little more inspiration...or motivation....
This week we are offering up a prize for one lucky player!

This is a whole bunch of fun papers and chipboard goodies from Heidi Grace.

All you have to do for a chance to win it, is use the photo inspiration to complete a project, link it up at Paper Lovin' Gals and keep your fingers crossed!

And if that still isn't enough for you, head on over to the blog to see what the DT designed! I'm sure that will get the wheels turning.

Good luck and have a great weekend!!

Twisted Tryout!

I decided to throw my hat in the ring and try out for the design team at Twisted Sketches!

Here is the sketch....and the twist was "Feathers"...any way, any how.

I grabbed this photo of the a peacock that I had stalked at the zoo a few months ago.
I stamped a swirly image on the background paper with some copper ink. A border punch added a little something to the photo mat. I added a chipboard tag that was inked up in copper, added some fibers and ribbon. The feathers are a bunch that I found at Joann's. Unfortunately, the peacock wouldn't sit still long enough to get real ones, so I had to settle for fake....lol.
And then of course, I went through the stash and added quite a bit of bling.
So, wish me luck on the design team selections!!! Keeping everything crossed!!

Off to the zoo to stalk another peacock..have a great day!!

All the girls!

This is going to be a quick "drive-by" post. The weather has been just amazing, the sun is shining and we are off to the zoo! It's still only 40 degrees outside, but we don't care!

Here is my take on the February sketch challenge at My Scraps and More. I used up some much older goodies from Heidi Grace. Lots of fun chipboard and a few scraps of papers.

These are all the girls in my family....and lucky us, we are all going to be spending the day together again.

Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

A Bunch of Characters

125 days until our Disney trip! Sooo excited!! I pulled out some pictures of our Disney Cruise Bon Voyage party to use for this fun sketch from Sketches in Thyme.
The background was solid white and I kinda smeared yellow and red Stickles all over it. I love how this turned out! The title is a rub on from Creative Imaginations. :)

And here is my attempt at a Twisted Sketches project. The twist was "old"...any way, any how. I pulled out some older die cut papers from DCWV. I'm so glad to finally use these older papers! I knew I saved them for a reason. :)
A bunch of older flowers from the stash were pulled out. I used my Brad Maker to make the centers of all the flowers. I'm using this for the brad/eyelet challenge at Frosted Designs. :)
Off to the store to stock up on more goodies!!
Have a great day!!!

Baseball and Beaches

I had a healthy dose of inspiration last night. I'm fighting off this cold and I was stalling taking my nighttime meds. The best way was to just keep busy.

Here is sketch #69 from Sketches in Thyme.
This started out being simple and then I just kept adding to it.

The background is paper from Coredinations. I lightly sanded it a bit just to rough it up.
I then tore a strip of cork and added some shimmery ribbon to it. The photo was matted with a piece from Wild Asparagus. Just for fun, I outlined the whole photo with a piece of twine. This was tied around a package that I just received. No waste!
The title was made from letter stickers by Inspirations.
After I added the seashells, I felt it needed something more. So I popped them back off, added a light layer of glue and dusted it with some sand. The sand and shells are real....from our trip to the Bahamas. :)

My second "try to stay awake" page is for Frosted Designs.

I broke into the scrap box for some fun strips.
The baseball strip and the text strip are from K&Company. Instead of adding smaller photos, I pulled out the memory box and found the tickets from the game that day.
I love adding memorabilia to my pages!

So this was my Thursday night. I'm not going down without a fight, so I'm going to try to get another page done before it's time for my meds.
Enjoy your Friday night!

Happy :)

I have to admit that I am in love with all the new lines from Authentique. I'm sllloooowwlly building a whole collection of them all. :)

I thought I would take a shot at the February sketch challenge and play with these fun papers, instead of hoarding them all.

I did a bit of fussy cutting on the diamond pattern. Then I took a whole sheet of the flower pattern and fussy cut quite a few of the flowers. Some of them are on pop dots. Then I added some fun dew drops that I just received from my friend Rosey.
After everything was laid out and then adhered, I went around everything with a charcoal grey marker.
I love love love the mix of the grey and yellow. I think this is going to be my favorite collection...and now I need to buy more. :)

Have a great Thursday!!!

Paper Lovin' Gals #19 - Stairway to Craftin'

Good morning ladies!!! It's that time again! Time for another awesome photo inspiration challenge from Paper Lovin' Gals! Are you ready??

Here is the beautiful photo....don't you just love this??!! That pop of orange is just so awesome! I wish I could have this in my house. This just fits so well here...
Anyway...use this photo anyway you wish to inspire your project. Color, theme, layout...have fun with it!

I stuck with the whole color scheme. I still have LOTS of butterfly pictures ( I can't wait to see them again this Spring). Here are some fun photos from the September Butterfly Fest.
I used some butterfly accent pieces and some flowers from the stash to recreate the real photos. I also added a little bit of Stickles here and there just for an added touch. I used sketch #194 from Creative Scrappers for my page. The multi photo sketch works great when you have a stack of butterfly photos...lol.

Your turn!! Have fun and don't forget to stop by the Paper Lovin' Gals blog to see what the rest of the DT created! You won't be disappointed!!

I "heart" Pool Time

I had sooo much fun making this page!! I pulled out the Mango Frost stack by Die Cuts With a View and worked on this month's template challenge! Bits and pieces and lots of fussing cutting and I love how it turned out. :)

The background was a simple choice....it was the challenge from ScrapFit #61...a blank canvas aka white! This stack has so much color in it, I almost had to go white!

I am so enjoying my day off! I'm off now to do some retail therapy....at the scrapbook store of course!!

SSShhh.....

I took today off so I could volunteer at the my daughter's school party for Valentine's Day. And I thought I would take some extra time to play with Scrap Whispers challenges for this month.

Challenge #118 was this cool color scheme. This worked great for this picture of my daughter at the gardens at Navy Pier.

All of the papers are from Echo Park. The cluster is a mix of a few doilies and some flower punches and buttons.
My second page is for challenge #119, which was to scrap lift Nilsa's awesome layout.
I tried to stick to the whole color scheme and the layout itself...and of course, the title...lol.
This was such a fun layout, and the colors were so different I couldn't stray too far.
These papers are from an older line from Bella Blvd. The photo mat is a painted piece of chipboard from a mini album.

Have a great Valentine's Day!!!

The Falls

I had a wonderful day out with my oldest daughter today. We shopped until we dropped...literally. By the time we got home, her headache and congestion had settled in full force and she is pretty miserable right now. But...we managed to get to the store so she could buy her "dream dress" for her Aunt's upcoming wedding. :)

I was able to sneak into Archiver's and buy some goodies too! :)

Here is my attempt at this month's sketch from Artful Delight.
I inked up a few doilies and use a circle cutter on different patterned papers from American Crafts and Basic Grey.

This was a lot of fun to make. And I have ink everywhere on my desk now...and fingers....and my jeans...

I'm off to work on another page....hoping to get something done before the Grammy's tonight. I can't wait to see Adele!!!!

Young and Wild

YES!! A very productive day so far!
Unfortunately, we lost the basketball game, but the girls did an amazing job and we are so proud of them.

I pulled out so fun Bo Bunny papers to use for this sketch from Sketches: Creatively Yours.
I cut down a sheet of text paper and matted it on Coredinations card stock. I sanded down the edges a little bit. The pieces of ribbon were from the stash. I also had this pretty awesome piece of fuzzy ribbon with the cheetah print. The flowers were punched and layered and then put together with animal print brads.

My next page came together fairly quickly. I used sketch #193 from Creative Scrappers.
The doily was inked in pewter and then misted with Sparkle. I handmade the flowers...this was my favorite part! I punched out a few different sizes and then distressed them like crazy. After they were layered, I splattered some Stickles all over them and added a gem to the centers. Some miscellaneous bling and pretty trims rounded out the rest of the page.
YAY! I got a few pages done, a few loads of laundry and it's still early in the day!! Hopefully, I can knock out a few more.
:))

Hello again!

It seems like it has been forever since I have been able to work on any projects. My hubby has finally been working full-time and even tons of overtime. Which is a good thing and a bad thing. While the money is good, not having him around to help with the kids has been pretty hard. This is one tired Momma!

I've been trying to sneak in a little bit of scrapping here and there. Of course, waking up before dawn has given me a little free and quiet time.

Here are a few pages I made using lots of fun sketches.

Once Upon a Sketch always has gorgeous sketches. I've been trying to play along more often, but...

I had one photo in mind when I started, then I realized the challenge was about a man in your life that you love. I have so many photos of my little guy, I grabbed this photo right away. All of these papers are from Echo Park. The flowers are all handmade using different punches and then I added buttons.
Next up is a fun sketch from Sketch Inspiration.

I used up some bits and pieces from the Snuggle Bug collection from Little Yellow Bicycle. I fussy cut the bugs from the patterned papers and then put them on pop dots.
This was just a fun page I wanted to put together. All of these papers are from an Artful Delight kit. I added some fun corrugated pieces from Jillibean and threaded some floss through them.
A sketch from My Mind's Eye came together using much older papers.
Some are from The Signature Life collection. So glad to finally get these out of the stash and onto a page. The other papers are from the Stella Rose collection. And the fun chipboard pieces are from Fine and Dandy.

This was just fun to work with. Another My Mind's Eye sketch from Jana Eubank. I just wanted to play with it. Some of the papers are from the Artful Delight kit, some are older MME papers and the rest is all from MME kraft collections.
After my daughter's basketball game, I will be able to spend the rest of the day working on pages! I am so excited and pumped up!!

Have a great Saturday!!!!
