Nature Walk

Using Creative Scrappers sketch #158, I pulled out some fun Fall photos.

The polka dot paper is from Stacy Claire Boyd. Each photo was framed with an older frame from Wild Asparagus. So glad to finally use these! The other fun elements...the birds and the ferns, are from K&Company. And finally, I used up some fun letter stickers from Nostalgiques to make up the title. I'm still determined to use up a bunch of these letter stickers! :)

A quick Father's Day card

Taking another break from the heat...

Scrapbook Trends Create Blog is having a Father's Day card challenge. I pulled out some pieces from the Father and Son Kit from Fancy Pants. I love the argyle design on the paper. I added a few layered flowers and a gem brad to the centers. The hubby caught me putting this one together, so I think this is going to be for my Father in Law. :)

Anyone up for some ice cold lemonade??

Break time! Time to dance!

As much as I love nice weather, it is HOT outside! I ran around with the kids for a bit and had to give up. Days like this is when I wish we had opened the pool already. Oh well...time to break out the slip and slide.

Here is Scrapbook Daisies challenge #5. I love using die cut pieces. This is a chipboard piece that was colored black. I used a bit of Stickles all around the photo. And a mish mash of flowers and brads to accent the whole page.

Time for lunch! I'm ready to fire up the grill now! Anyone for a burger??

Fun Artistry

What a beautiful morning! I am so anxious to get out and enjoy this great weather! But I really wanted to finish up this 2 pages I started last night.

This sketch is #4 from Scrapbook Daisies blog challenges. And this finishes up the group of pictures from our fun summer outing last year. I used more scraps to make all the elements. The banner was all tied together with some paper wire. And of course, I just had to add buttons. The border strips at the bottom are from Bazzill Basics. I just colored them up with markers.

I am going to hit the showers and head outside. This sunshine CANNOT be wasted sitting around here!

Have a great Memorial Day!!

Picnics and Ants

A quick and simple page. I obviously need more pictures of picnics! If the rain would only go away....

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge was to do a project that had a bbq or picnic theme. This was from last year's trip to the zoo where we stopped for a quick picnic lunch.

The checked patterned paper was found at Joann's. It was originally 8 1/2 x 11 and I pieced two sheets together to make the background. I added the red ribbon to hide the seam....sshhh...

These fun giant ants were from a chipboard set from Bazzill. I used some markers to color them black. They did kinda give me the willies...I left them on my desk to dry and my little guy didn't like them either. :)

My Little Man

Another load of laundry finished.....another page finished! I feel so accomplished today! :)

Here is my take on Sketch #156 from Creative Scrappers. I used a larger picture for this one.

The papers and all the elements are from Bella Blvd Man of the House collection. A little bit of fussy cutting...and little bit of Glimmer Mist and a few pieces of ribbon mixed in. :)

The title was made with Thickers letters. My inspiration for the title came from Scrap Fit Workout #44. The challenge was to use the phrase "Stand By Your Man" as your inspiration. I love this picture of my little guy. He was such a trooper to wear this cute little hat.

The dryer is buzzing and the next load is calling me. I sure hope it's the last load! :)

Easter eggs and polka dots

So our day at the zoo was cut short due to the rain. But of course, I took lots of fun puddle jumping pictures! We were totally soaked to the bone by the time we got home, but it was worth it. The temps were high enough that no one wanted to quit too early. So now I'm back home, doing laundry (lots of wet clothes) and trying to complete a few pages.

This sketch is from Sketches in Thyme. I had to flip it to work with these pictures. Scrapfit Weekend Workout challenge #6 was to use polka dots. I LOVE these fun mugs I found at a home store. They are soooo colorful and bright! I just HAD to use them for coloring Easter eggs this year.

These fun papers are from the Target dollar section a few years ago. They were plenty of polka dots to work with to make this page. The big Easter eggs are wooden accent pieces from Michael's.

I think it's my turn for a hot shower...if they saved me any hot water!

:)

Back to School

I just recently organized another huge box of pictures. This one had all my kids professional pictures...from baby pictures all through school.

This challenge from The Paper Variety came at a great time. Now that I have TONS of school pictures to work with! I used this fun collection from Crate Paper called School Spirit. Our local scrapbook store just reopened and they had tons of goodies to choose from. I loved these fun colors!

The sketch is from Show Us Your Stuff. This was the 2nd challenge for May. I'm still getting used to adding banners to my pages. But it worked out well for this page.

We are off to the zoo today!! I sure hope the weather holds out!! It's cloudy, but going up to 75 degrees today! That's great puddle jumping weather. The kids have their umbrellas and are ready to go! Not sure if I want it to rain or not...either way, it could be FUN!

Enjoy your Sunday!!!

Echo Park Splash

My new FAVORITE collection is from Echo Park! Its called Splash and it is sooo much fun! I really need this weather to warm up so I can start getting some pictures to use.

Here is the first of many. I started out with sketch #47 from Sketchabilities. All of the pieces from the Echo Park kit seemed to come together nicely. This huge water splash was so much fun! I popped it up on foam dots to add dimension. I also popped up a few other elements too.

Time to open up the pool!!! Bring on the sunshine!!!

Cheers!

And yet, more fun pictures from one of our Girl's Nights Out.
I used sketch #157 from Creative Scrappers. Everything on the page was from the old stash. I really want to clean some stuff out before CHA Summer comes. I have a feeling I'm going to need room for lots of new goodies....and maybe a second job!

The drink stickers are from Jolee's. I think I bought 4 different sets. Too cute to pass up...I just need to drink more so I can use them all up! The flowers are all miscellaneous goodies from the drawer.

Another goal of mine is to use up all these letter stickers I have. I have a whole drawer full of them and I would hate to ignore them any longer. These fun letters are from Doodlebug Designs. :)

I'm off to get some great Memorial Day pictures today. Lots of celebrations to be had!

Have a great Saturday!

Harvest Days

Well, here is my last page for the 14 days of sketches from Artful Delight. I didn't get to finish all of them, but I made a pretty good attempt. There was a lot of fun inspiration, great sketches, and I was happy to give it a shot. I'm saving the sketches for later...hopefully, I'll be able to finish them up later on. :)

Turns out, the weathermen didn't have a clue as to what was going to happen this whole weekend. Both days were supposed to be rainy and windy and miserable. But lucky us, we had a great weekend! And believe me, I took plenty of pictures to prove it!

I hit up the scrap box for this fun page. Lots of strips of leftovers. The center piece is a cut circle from a scrap. I printed out the text, cut it with my circle cutter, inked it up and dressed it up with a little raffia. The fun corn/maize piece was from a set I found at Michael's.

Seeing Stars

I'm seeing stars! This week's challenge from The Paper Variety is to use stars on your project. I totally forgot I still had these random pictures from last years' 4th of July party. Glad to get them scrapped and out of the box!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge is to use a patriotic theme. I am so glad I didn't wait to buy the K&Company goodies! I wish I had bought more of the themed papers...yet another excuse to go shopping!

Sketch #3 from Artful Delight! I was hoping to use a big star die cut on this one. But when I saw it in the store, I decided to wait until after the holidays to buy it. I figured I didn't have any pictures from the holidays yet, so why buy it now. Yes, I am kicking myself...
I decided to use these smaller star die cuts to form the circle on the sketch. The paper is from the scrap box and the border strip is new from KCompany.

Another sketch down....more pictures scrapped...so far, so good. :)

More Margaritas!

Now that my friends and I have made it a point to get together at least once a month, I am starting to collect a bunch of these fun pictures!

I used sketch #220 from Sketch Inspiration for this page. I happen to have lots of scalloped goodies to add to finish this one up. All of them came from the dollar section at Michael's. Many different colors and shapes and I was able to use a few....finally!

I decided to "build it up" and add some dimension so I could participate in the challenge at The Studio Challenges.

For dimension, I added a wooden accent from Michael's, a real umbrella from one of our fun drinks, page pebbles, and I popped up the drink stickers with foam pop dots. :)

So glad I saved those little umbrellas...but I need to go back for different colors...yeah, that's it...lol

Happy Days!

Gotta love Girl's Night Out!

I lost count as to how many margaritas we enjoyed this night. Mary was reapplying her lipstick and gave me a smacker on the cheek and it was all giggles and goofiness from then on.

Here is sketch #6 from Artful Delight. I love this banner from My Mind's Eye chipboard. The fun drink paper is from Cloud 9. The tag is chipboard that was inked up. I printed out the text on the computer and outlined it with markers. The fun drink sticker is from Jolee's. :)

Off to the farm !! Have a great Saturday!!!

Let's Read

You should know by now that everything is a photo op for me. A few months ago, Target stores celebrated Reading Week by having Story Time for the kids while the parents shopped. Of course, I showed up with a fully charged camera. Wait till you see the rest of the pictures...lol.

This was what I came up with for sketch #10 for Artful Delight's 14 days of sketches.
All of the stickers are from the new line at Michael's. I wish they came out with a paper line for Dr. Suess! That would be pretty cool!

I really hope I can knock off a few more layouts today. The weather is looking really good and I want to get out....for more pictures of course!

Simply Wonderful

Here is a page I did for Scrapbook Daisies blog challenge #3.

I started out with a Bo Bunny scalloped circle. I've been dying to use it and never had just the right pictures to go with it. I think this proud peacock worked pretty well.

I tore the edges of a few pieces of mulberry paper for the layers and the photo mats. The fun titles are from Bo Bunny also. I wanted to add some feathers to the page too, but had to settle on mulberry. I just never seem to have the right color feathers when I need them. Do you see a shopping trip in my near future??

Creative Scrappers #155

I'm trying to catch up on some fun sketches from Creative Scrappers this month. I love what they have come up with month and I am hoping to get more pictures scrapped. I want to place another order but the hubster has been giving me funny looks. Because he sees the box I have that is filled with pictures and he doesn't understand the need for more. :)

Here is what I came up with for Sketch #155. I used up lots of scraps, lots of Stickles and lots of K&Company flowers. I love the metal butterflies too. This was a find at Michael's in the clearance section. As you can see from previous posts, I love the clearance section. :)

Feeling Tropical

I finally managed to get away from the "cold" pictures. Even though these were taken when it was cold out, I still get a good tropical feeling.

I used this week's sketch challenge from Stuck On U Sketches. I love all the circles. It also helped that I had them already cut from a previous project. This kit has been used to death and I still have more left. I think it's from Colorbok...there are no labels left.

The flowers were taken from a lei we had gotten from one of our vacations. And the bling on the flowers were all from Michael's dollar spot. The title was a piece from a K&Company set that I matted on green cardstock. All of the swirl bling was put together using various bling from the stash.

Now I need to stick with "warm" pictures! I feel better already!!

Snow Sculptures

Well, so much for me working with summer pictures to escape this yucky weather. This sketch from Scrapbook Daisies was calling me today. And the only pictures I had on hand that would work were snow pictures. Oh well....it was fun!

These papers are all old stash from Heidi Grace. The title is made from foam letters that I found on clearance a while ago. I added a little bit of blue Stickles to them to try to dress them up.

The big snowflakes are wooden accent pieces from Michael's. I love the glitter on these things, and since they were on clearance, I bought quite a few. The smaller embellishments are also from Michael's.

I'm glad to finally scrap these pictures, but I really need to get away from "cold" stuff....time for more coffee!

Fall Smiles

What happened to Spring??? It is so cold, windy and rainy outside. What a miserable weekend. The only benefit was that I was able to get lots of scrapping done.

Here is my Sunday start. This sketch is from Studio Calico. Love the multi-photos and the placement. Because of this awful weather, I pulled out the Fall pictures. ( I swear it could snow today!)

The color inspiration is this week's challenge from Off The Wall Craftiness. That middle swatch was really hard to match. Luckily, I had a kit from SEI - Granny's Kitchen. The color was perfect, I just had to work in the green. I used some leaves pulled off of some stems I had in the stash. I also added some jute here and there.

I really want to work on happy pages. I need to get out of this bad weather slump. I'm off to order some Spring pictures and to find some beach stuff to work on. Maybe that will help with the blahs....

Diamonds are a girl's best friend...

This is going to make my daughter beat me senseless but...I just love her dance photos! They had the cutest routines! I sang this song the whole time I was working on this page...lol.

The song inspiration is from Crop Suey. We were encouraged to get our song and dance on! I went with the title of the song for her dance routine. I printed it out on white cardstock and added some "diamond" bling around the edge. The flowers are from the christmas stash and I just bought these huge bling pieces from Michael's. I needed 3 of them, and only 2 came out of the bag. I was just about to start swearing...then I realized the 3rd one was stuck inside the bag. I let out a big squeal of delight and had to peel my hubby off the ceiling...lol. He just doesn't understand my excitement sometimes...lol.

The sketch is from Scrapbook & Cards Today. It came at perfect time for this picture. I love all the different patterns.

And lastly, the color inspiration came from The Color Room. I just love all the color combinations they come up with.

Only You

ScrapFit challenged us to use the title "Only You" on our project this week. I've been struggling with what pictures to use for this one. I think I've gone through the box of pictures about 100 times this week.

I settled on this beautiful picture of my little guy. This was his 6 month picture. He is now 4 years old. :)

This sketch from Sketches in Thyme was the 2nd challenge for me. As much as I love working with multi photo sketches, every once in a while it's nice to just highlight one picture. I think I spend a little more time on them and get to play with more elements.

I used the Snuggle Bug Baby Boy kit from Little Yellow Bicycle. This is such a fun collection. I'm really glad I have more professional pictures from his baby days so I can play with these goodies a lot.

Okay....another page done....time to work on getting rid of this stupid headache....

Movie Night!

Here is a fun page I did for the challenge at The Paper Variety.

This week's challenge was to use the Movies as your inspiration. These are some funny pictures of my babies wearing these HUGE 3D glasses for the new Harry Potter movie.
The popcorn circle is a chipboard coaster from the $1 spot at Michael's. The film strip has been around forever.

For a little extra fun, I tore up little pieces of yellow tissue paper and balled it up to look like popcorn. It gives the whole page a little dimension and it's own 3D effect. And you don't have to wear big ugly glasses to see it. :)

Spring is here!

I love working with pastels!!
This week's Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab World was this beautiful skirt with gorgeous spring colors. I wish I had my flower pictures printed!!

I found these ancient papers in my stash. They are from All My Memories Couture line from a long time ago. I thought the colors were just right for the inspirational photo.

The sketch is #1 from Scrapbook Daisies. I love the die cut piece behind the photos. I used a chipboard piece from a Colorbok kit. A little bit of ink prettied it up just nice. I used a solid piece of paper behind the chipboard to tone down the background a bit. All of the flowers were from the stash. The butterfly stickers are new from Studio 112 from Joann's...only $1 for the whole set!. The die cut with the quote was another steal from Michael's. These are from K&Company and I found the whole pack in the clearance section...for $1!

This also completes Weekend Workout #5 from ScrapFit which was to use a Spring theme on your project.

One of these days, the rain will end and I will be able to get out and get more Spring photos. I managed to get some last week, but I know there are sooo many more photo ops out there! I'm thinking of heading to the conservatory..... :)

Enjoy your Saturday!
