My Girl

Here is a fun page I did with yet another one of my daughter's school pictures. I think I have scrapped this one at least 3 times so far! And she told me today that this one is her favorite! :)

My inspiration started with the Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab World. These colors are so soft and pretty!

I used this beautiful sketch from Fern at Frosted Designs. It had such a feminine feel to it. It was perfect for my page!
The background is solid blue, I just inked the edges in rose colored ink. The flowers are a combination of stickers from K&Company and tiny roses from the dollar spot. I pieced together some pearl bling for the flower clusters.
At the bottom is half of an inked doily, with some tiny roses. The title is from Marcella by Kay. These items have been around forever and I am so happy that it all came together so well. My daughter is so happy! :)

Cruisin' with Mickey

How bad is it that I never finished scrapping all of our cruise pictures from over a year ago?? I couldn't tell you how many times I have promised myself that would focus on getting them all done...and then I get distracted with newer pictures. Oh well...as long as I find inspiration here and there....eventually they will all get scrapped. Then I will need some big time motivation to put them all into albums...

Challenge #38 at Scrapfit was a color combo challenge. I don't know why, but when I first saw the color pallette, I saw red, yellow, blue and white. WRONG! I thought it was basic primary colors! WRONG! It was actually, red, orange, yellow and green! How did I do that?? Oh well...at least I can say that I scrapped more of our vacation!

This fun sketch was from Stuck on U Sketches. The mickey heads are paint chips from Home Depot. Pluto and Minnie are pieces from a room decoration from our stateroom. And the life preserver is a wooden accent from Michael's. :)

Country Roads...

Love these pictures from the Fall Festival! These antique cars were so much fun! We were sitting in the backseat of the car and I took these pictures out the back window. Our local Children's Farm has these great paths and winding roads for the wagons and cars. It's just liking riding in the country. So much fun!
Great multi-photo sketch this week from Sketchy Thursdays! I finally found the inspiration for these photos! :)

Feeling a little BLUE....

The Design Team over at Scrap Whispers had a CRAZY challenge this week! The challenge was to be inspired by the SMURFS! I loved this challenge mainly because I had a small stash of Smurf stickers....lol...please, don't ask me why....

I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme as the basis for my page. I really struggled with this one. I had no idea where to even begin...then I ran across this fun picture of Jammer. He is the mascot for our local minor league baseball team. He's so cute! I really do wonder if there is any relation to the real Smurfs.....

Finally scrapping again!

It's really getting harder and harder to find time to scrap lately. By the time I get home from work, I'm too exhausted to even think about what to work on. There are so many fun things going on in the scrapping world, trying to play with them all is quite the challenge itself.
I wake up extra early in the morning, try to get some scrapping therapy, and then it's off to ...whatever it is that day. Right now, I'm off to a basketball game. Hopefully, I can squeeze in another page or two later on. I really miss this stuff....

I tried to combine a few challenges.....

First off is a great sketch from Sketch Inspiration #207. :)

Next is the challenge at Scrap Our Stash. We had to create a project about LOVE. I chose this great picture from our Family Reunion last summer. Seeing how the family has grown over the last 20 years, I thought this sticker sentiment from 3 Bugs in a Rug was perfect! :)
I also tried out the Moxie Fab challenge, which was to use Shimmer sprays. I placed a heart shaped doily on my background paper to use as a mask and used a dark blue Shimmer Spray. :)

Since I didn't use any patterned papers at all...(which is the HARDEST thing to do!), I am submitting this to Frosted Designs this week. Why is it so hard NOT to use patterned papers?? Is it because I have so much of it?? Great challenge! :)

At Scrap Whispers, the challenge was to recycle something for your project. I saved this ribbon from a gift bag. I can't even remember how long it's been around, but I just knew I would use it someday! It's so pretty...I wish I could find more of it. :)

Cool Autumn

Playing along with this week's sketch at Sketches in Thyme. I've had these few pictures from an outing last Fall and thought they would work great with the sketch. I misted the background and thought the green was too bright, so I inked up with Cat's Eyes a little bit. The flowers and leaves are all random goodies from the stash. As well as the title blocks and the strips of papers.
If I may pat myself on the back a bit...I have been doing so great at not shopping lately! I don't know if it's my will power or the fact that it's too stinkin' cold to venture out! By the time Spring gets here, I should have lots of room for new goodies...right???

Sketchy Thursdays GDT

I'm throwing my hat into the ring....here is my page for the Guest Designer Challenge at Sketchy Thursdays.
The challenge was to use to sketch - red and turquoise - hearts - and a list of things to love.
I love this picture of my dd and Cinderella! She was so excited to see me working on it. It's from 2 years ago, but it's still one of my favorites.
Some of the stickers are from Bo Bunny. They've been in the stash for quite a while...gotta use it up! The music notes are brads and the pieces they are on are also on pop dots for more dimension. The fuzzy hearts on the list are from the dollar spot at Target. I love these little dingle ball trims...lol. They are so cute and I have quite a few colors.
Well...wish me luck!

Forgotten Treasures

Here is a "Forgotten Treasure" that I chose to work on today. On the Skethes4All valentine blog hop, Michelle challenged us to make a tri-card. While I was debating how I wanted to do this, I remembered a technique I learned at CKU a few years ago.
We used small envelopes and glued them together by overlapping the envelopes and the flaps. On one side I added some fun patterned papers and some flocked hearts I cut out from Heidi Grace papers. On the "inside" of the card, I stamped some fun swirly images.
The "I heart U" stickers are from Colorbok and then I added a few more random heart stickers. On the inside of the envelopes, I used some pieces of cardstock with a border punch. A few sweet sayings stickers on the front and some sweet journaling to my hubby on the back. He usually gets me "coupons" for Valentine's Day...so I may change my idea and make up some coupons of my own. :)
This technique is my Forgotten Treasure, which is also a fun challenge at Scrap Whispers! Off to make up some coupons....lol

Creative Scrappers #142

I love these sketches where I can play with doilies. They are so pretty!
This sketch is #142 from Creative Scrappers.
I used pink and green inks on my doily. The strips were from the scrap stash. I matted them all on green scraps. The flowers are a mix of everything from the stash and I put green gems on all of them. The ribbon piece was also from the stash. The title was made from a set of alpha stickers that have been around for quite a while. It was time they finally found a home. :)

Still snowed in...

We woke up to yet another 3 inches of snow today! I am so over this white stuff....
I picked out some pictures from Fall to work with today...hoping to feel a little bit better. It didn't work. I even made a run to Michael's today...and came back empty handed. :(
Here is this week's sketch from Sketches in Thyme. Lots of bits and pieces from the stash. I wouldn't even know where to start. I'm just happy that it's getting used. :)

I'm hoping to get a few more pages done today! And I hope the wait for the good Super Bowl commercials is worth it!

GO STEELERS!!!!

Last one for today...

I had a great day...got lots of pages done...and now I'm ready for bed!

I started this page off with Resolution #1 for the Blog Hop Challenge at Let's Scrap. Betty Anne's challenge was to scraplift another member's layout. I chose to lift Linda McDonald's gorgeous layout called Days Gone By. She used these soft blues and ivories and beautiful flowers. Hers turned out so much better than mine. :)

The second challenge was from the Sketches 4 All Blog Hop. Stacy had the first challenge which was to use a love song in our project. My hubby proposed to me in front of Cinderella's Castle in Disney World. We chose A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes as our wedding song. It's also my ringtone for him. :)

The third challenge was from ScrapFit. This month's challenge was to do a project about a dream you had or have. Since my dream was to actually GO to Disney World, and my hubby proposed, I guess you can say I had quite a few dreams fulfilled that week. :)

K...nite nite!!! :)

Scrappy Saturday!!

We are still snowed in and it's too cold outside to play...so I get a whole weekend to scrap my little heart out! Speaking of hearts....
I raided my dd's stash and found TONS of Valentine stuff! She thought it was so cute...last year!
I was looking for little hearts and she had a few. Just a few!
So my goal is to keep using up the old stash. I haven't bought new stuff yet this year. Only adhesive, but that's a necessity.
I still can't believe what I have found, what I have used and there never seems to be room. The piles don't get smaller...the drawers don't get emptier...I don't get it.
Oh well...maybe after this weekend they will!
Here is the supply list for my first page this weekend:
Core-dination's cardstock
doily
border punch
flowers
bling
rubons
ribbon
I dug out the Fastenator!
lots of inking
photo corners
stickers

So you tell me....why isn't the stash getting smaller???

Creative Scrappers #141

Last one before I head to bed. I guess I can't really use the weather as an excuse anymore...almost all of the streets have been cleared....darn!

This is sketch #141 from Creative Scrappers. I used a tearing ruler on vellum and then inked it in a few different shades of blue. The tag and die cut pieces are from Colorbok. I also added some pearl swirl bling to the waves to make it look a little prettier. :)

We Love Chocolate!!

I love these fun pictures from the Chocolate Fest last summer! I had no idea what to do with them until this great challenge at The Paper Variety popped up. They posted a fun photo of about a million conversation hearts. We could take any inspiration from the photo we wanted.
I don't have any Valentine's pictures...yet...so I decided to use candy as my inspiration.
I chose to use this week's multi-photo sketch from Sketch Inspiration. This is sketch #205.
I had to raid my daughter's stash for the ribbon. The fun chocolate candy stickers....are actually scented...now I have to find some real chocolate.... :)

Tiny Dancer

I had to dig deep to find some smaller pictures to fit this great sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
These pictures are from when my oldest daughter was taking dance classes. She was about 6 years old in the pictures....she is going to be 21 in July. :)
I also dug deep into the stash to pull out these pretty papers from All My Memories Couture Collection. I used some fun rubon stitches around the patterned paper. I used the leftovers from my center piece to make these fun accordian flowers. I really would love to have a scoring board...it would make this so much easier! Guess it's going on my birthday list! I added some pretty flowers to the centers to keep them together....and because I love buttons! :)

More Resolutions done!

I hope you have been playing along with the Resolution Blog Hop at Let's Scrap! Time is running out! Luckily, (i guess) since I am snowed in for a while, I'm hoping to get the rest of the challenges finished.

Here is Cori's Resolution #4 challenge: Use a list on your page. I just got these adorable clipboards in the mail and they worked perfectly! I used a hodge podge of goodies from the stash. Let's Scrap sketch #ls122 was great! The memorabilia pocket was handy for all of our maps and brochures from our nature hike.

Resolution #9 from Mandy: Create something that makes you smile or laugh. I had these fun pictures of my sister in law who volunteered to babysit all her nieces and nephew overnight...lol. I hope we can convince her to do it again soon! These rubons from Karen Foster were a lot of fun to use and it was about time to use them.

Resolution #15 - Amy's challenge was to use the colors teal/yellow, grey/silver and use the word Happy somewhere. I was able to use a LOT of goodies from the stash.

If it's not snow..it's frigid temps!

Mother Nature really likes to wreak havoc around here. I called in and took another day off. I work in the middle of the city, and it's still pretty chaotic there, so driving is pretty dangerous. I figured I would stay home and play in the snow with the kids, but....it's 2 below zero right now! Oh well....I guess I will have to stay safe and warm and scrap alllll day....lol....darn!
I love this gorgeous sketch from Sketchabilities! I wish it were Spring and I had some pretty pictures of flowers to work with. I went with these nice pics of my two little ones. We were at all Fall Fest and while we were waiting for the hayride, I noticed this pretty bush. They were obviously more than happy to pose...lol

The die cut piece is from DCWV Flower Power stack. The flowers are from Michael's and I added buttons in the middle. The green strip is crepe paper from Hobby Lobby. And the fun felt leaves and stems are from Prima. The butterfly border is from ScrapBuck.
Hopefully, I will be able to get lots more done today! :)

Inspired Blueprints #65

I feel better working on Spring pictures all day. This snow and now the frigid temps coming tomorrow are really starting to depress me. All this snow and it's too stinkin' cold to play. :(

I thought this was a pretty sketch from Inspired Blueprints. I loved the bow in the sketch and of course, I couldn't make one myself to save my life. :(

I placed a doily on the background paper and then misted the whole page in black. The strip was made with my border punch and then I just used a black marker to make a stripe down the center. The butterfly stickers are from a few different places in the stash. :)

Now the big debate is whether to stay home again tomorrow or brave the cold and go to work....hmm.....

Snowed in!

Since there is NO way I will be able to get out of the house today, looks like I'll be scrapping my little heart out!
This is a page I made with a sketch from Stuck on U Sketches. These are some fun pictures from one of the Spring festivals. I REALLY can't wait for Spring!!
I also used a fun ribbon challenge from Erin at Sketches4All. She wanted us to think outside the box and use ribbon in a different and unique way. My best effort was to braid 3 different kinds of ribbon together. I also used some fun metal brads that were hiding in the stash. :)
